Great Lake Track Counters

August 01, 2013 at 2:25 PM

The stunning Great Lake Trail follows the shores of beautiful Lake Taupo, New Zealand’s largest lake, from Waihaha to Whakaipo Bay. Once complete (in March 2014), it will provide 71 km of all-weather riding through native forest with stunning views across Lake Taupo to the majestic Tongariro National Park. This gem can be ridden in all seasons - the track's pumice soil surface means that even in wet weather there is normally little or no mud on the trail.

The permanent Eco Combo Multi counters are in place to capture cyclist and pedestrian movements, supporting future maintenance and route expansions.
